A small stock of medical supplies, water, flashlights, and non-perishable goods is sufficient. You may also consider adding things like batteries and portable smartphone chargers.

Another thing to consider is your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. During the winter, people tend to keep their homes closed.
