Lake Country officially became a municipality in 1995, comprising four distinct neighborhoods: Carrs Landing, Okanagan Centre, Oyama, and Winfield.

Carrs Landing:

Nestled along the shores of Okanagan Lake, Carrs Landing remains a significant agricultural area featuring vineyards, wineries, and orchards that harmonize with the natural surroundings. Noteworthy developments in Lake Country include the master-planned community of Lakestone, offering convenient amenities, exquisite architecture, and a touch of luxury. While many residents enjoy the popular beach in their backyards, public access can be found at Coral Beach, a local favorite. Additional beach accesses and a secluded boat launch, less crowded than those in downtown Kelowna and Lower Mission, enhance the appeal. Carrs Landing Road hosts several restaurants and coffee spots, while larger retail options are available uphill in Winfield, and some residents prefer shopping in the neighboring Kelowna community of North Glenmore.

Situated on the east shores of Okanagan Lake, Okanagan Centre is another predominantly agricultural area in Lake Country.
